Experiencing it Again, for the First Time
What I'm Into: February (Time Warp) Edition
GallifreyOne:
It's the most wonderful time of the year (that blood family aren't also present for). My second year at Gally was so unlike my first year that it felt mostly completely new. From a conference standpoint, I spent about 400% more time in the main room, went to some meet-ups, and also some nighttime options outside of the dance party. From an experience standpoint, though, the differences were immeasurable. I know it's almost a full month behind me now, but I still can't wrap my brain around it. More on it later...but here are some pictures in the meantime.
Hot tip: Come to L.I. Who.
I do have a playlist that I made for the trip. If you want a different set of things to listen to, here you go:
TV:
The Good Wife
I stand by my long term proclamation that this is the greatest show on network television. Every time I have season fatigue (man, I'm so out of shape with a 23 episode season), I come back to the INSANELY good ensemble cast, the topical stories, the unique storytelling conventions...it's all just so good! Shout out to all the Baranskis out there!
Love
Possibly because my weekend binge of this new Netflix show followed GallifreyOne, and possibly because of the person I watched with, I absolutely LOVED this show! It isn't normally one I would've rushed to watch - I'm not a Community fan (I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet), I'm a "casual" Judd Apatow fan, but once I watched the first episode I knew there was no way I wasn't finishing this 10 episode show within 24 hours. I saw a lot of myself in one character until about episode 8 (especially in how they relate to people), and then I flipped between characters...I won't say which one is which (people who know me will (hopefully) easily guess)...and I hope to have lots of conversations about this show as more and more people work their way through it.
Disclaimer: It's not for everyone. But it was for me.
Downton Abbey
The few, the proud, the Downton Abbey fans who've lasted through Season Six. We've done it! We prevailed through Turkish sex murder, war casualties, suicide, multiple car accidents, alleged secret homicide, the same alleged secret homicide by a different person, likely SS homicide...and now we're here. In the US, there's only one episode standing between us and the end of the Crawley's time on TV - the 2015 Christmas episode. Only one more week to wait!
As Leigh said on Twitter...
So help me God if Edith doesn't get a happy ending. #DowntonAbbey

What I Plan to be Into:
In March, I'm focusing on physical and mental activity - I need to get back into a gym routine, a reading schedule, and spend some time on longer-term work projects. Exciting, I know. Here's to a balanced self (or, a more balanced self anyway) by March 31!
